Catching up with Thiago Vivacqua, double EF Open podium finisher

Thiago Vivacqua, aged 20, made his debut in the Euroformula Open earlier this season. The driver racing under the Campos Racing banner secured podium finishes at Estoril and Spa-Francorchamps and looks for more success. His next stop: Hungaroring.

You have already stepped onto the podium twice this season. How would you rate your season so far?

I would say 3.5 from 0 to 5. We are pushing for more podiums and it's just the start of the season. Paul Ricard wasn’t that really good but both Campos Racing and I are searching for more success in the races to come!

You race under the Brazilian and Portuguese flags. Where are your roots coming from?

My parents are from Brazil but my grandfather is Portuguese, so I decided to use the Portuguese flag in his honour.

You experienced a challenging weekend at Circuit Paul Ricard. How are your preparing Round 4 at Hungaroring? Do you have previous experience at the track?

We are working on the simulator with Campos Racing almost everyday and checking the telemetry from the last race there. In fact, yes. The circuit isn’t unknown to me. I raced at Hungaroring in 2015 while contesting the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0.

What are your goals at the end of the season?

We want to finish in a really good position in the championship. The title race is in full swing and we are in contention for a place in the top-three. So, we are looking for other strong results to keep up title fight.
