The Italian team will field four cars for this coming 2013 season. Two Dallara F312 cars for Alexandre Cougnaud and Santiago Urrutia and other two Dallara F308s for Alex Toril and Andrea Cicconetti
RP Motorsport has confirmed its driver line-up for 2013 season in the European F3 Open, and they´re aiming for repeating the results achieved by the Italian squad in 2012 once again. Four cars on track for the full-season for Fabio Pampado´s team: two Dallara F312s for France´s Alexandre Cougnaud and Uruguay´s Santiago Urrutia and then, in the Copa, two Dallara F308 units for Alex Toril, an emerging Spaniard star, and Venezuelan- with Italian heritage- Andrea Cicconetti.
For Cougnaud it will be his second season in-a-row in the European F3 Open, after finishing 3rd in the Copa last year with Top F3, but he will debut with a new Dallara F312. Urrutia is a newcomer, and for sure he´s a very promising one after his 4th place in the Formula Abarth series after claiming four wins. Toril, after an adaptation year in 2012, could become a contender for the Copa and Cicconetti, with a successful background in go-karts, complete this great racing effort coming from the team led by Pampado.
“I´m really happy with our drivers, and the season about to begin promises to be pretty good. Cougnaud and Urrutia are two very young pilots, but I think their chances to play a key role in the series in 2013 are there. At the wheel of our F308 cars we have two young boys, but it´s important to say they have no pressure. Their target is to gain experience in the F3 Open, nothing else. We´re looking forward to this season, visiting some of the most prestigious racing tracks in Europe again”, Pampado said.
It was a 1-2 finish in the European F3 Open for RP Motorsport with Niccolò Schirò and Gianmarco Raimondo last year, also claiming the teams´ title.
